Just across the highway from the natural history museum, and at the base of Bridge Mountain, Crawford Arch is a stone bridge suspended almost a thousand feet in the air. Once thought to be a natural bridge, and pointed to by rangers as such for decades, geologists have determined that it is actually an arch. (Recall that a natural bridge spans a valley of erosion, whereas a natural arch does not span an erosion valley.) Even with the aid of a sign about the arch posted in the parking lot of the natural history museum, Ken had to look for a very long time before he was able to spot the arch.
